The discography of Don Pasquale It's not small, but it's not very extensive either. This 1952 version, produced in Turin by Cetra, remains among the classic references of this opera. It came, chronologically, after the famous 78 rpm recording made by HMV and dominated by the tenor figure of Tito Schipa, and featured an all-Italian vocal cast, evenly distributed among the greatest interpreters of the mid-twentieth-century Italian comic repertoire. Even today, it remains a miracle of acting, precise accent, fluid singing, and irresistible theatricality, absolutely superior to almost all the recordings made in the following years.
