ArchiveOne CD™ — an individually produced edition
Miles Davis Quintet with John Coltrane
Red Garland • Paul Chambers • Philly Joe Jones
Limited edition of 100 copies • CD Digipack
ArchiveOne CD™ treats the CD as an autonomous record edition built around the music, the source and the historical document. Each copy is made one-to-one, real-time, from the approved master source, following the principle ONE-TO-ONE REAL-TIME AUDIOPHILE TRANSFER.
This is therefore not the normal industrial replication of a CD in series: the ArchiveOne CD™ process provides for the individual production of each copy within a dedicated editorial project. For Complete Café Bohemia – Bandstand U.S.A. 1956–58 Radio Broadcasts • Volume 1, this brings the one-to-one transfer together with historical research, source reconstruction, speed correction and remastering.
The original radio announcements and voice-overs are retained as an integral part of the document. The project preserves the identity of the first volume devoted to the Miles Davis Quintet at Café Bohemia and develops it as a specific ArchiveOne CD™ edition, with dedicated artwork and Digipack packaging and a total limited run of 100 copies.

Miles Davis at Café Bohemia
This first volume in the Complete Café Bohemia – Bandstand U.S.A. 1956–58 Radio Broadcasts series documents the Miles Davis Quintet with John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones.
The recordings come from Mutual Network broadcasts made at Café Bohemia in Greenwich Village, New York. The series also preserves Guy Wallace’s original radio announcements and voice-overs, which are an integral part of the historical document.
The editorial and audio work was built from the best available sources, with source reconstruction, speed correction and remastering. The production reference for this edition is the approved master source finalized for ArchiveOne CD™.

Restoration, source reconstruction and remastering
The surviving mono transcriptions of these recordings were not always in optimal condition. To present the complete performances, the best available sources were used, taking into account differences introduced by the various technical teams, microphone techniques and recording configurations used over a three-year period.
The work includes historical research, source reconstruction, speed correction & remastering, while retaining the original radio announcements and voice-overs.
