As Nicola Campogrande wrote, "the ambition of the collection is to depict a world. It's a postmodern world, where one can pause to observe architectural details from the past and flashes of the present, where references to classical forms are rethought with disenchanted joy, a world I try to paint by giving myself very long working times and then distilling the result into pages that carry the thrill of synthesis. If I were a computer, these Preludes would be my printer: a lot of work upstream, a single quick gesture to fill the sheet."

Recorded by Elena Casoli on a superb 1846 Luis Panormo guitar and then, in a second version of the same Preludes, on a very American Taylor with steel strings and, again, on a seventeenth-century archlute, the CD also features 3 incredible remixes prepared by DJ Roger Rama, who has transported Nicola Campogrande's music into the world of clubbing and DJ sets.
