Notes

Ancient Russian folk melodies; the nuances of human life (joy, love, illness, poverty, death, religion); a musical-aesthetic realism elevated to compositional commitment. These are the ingredients present in Musorgsky's Lieder, already appreciated by Liszt and Debussy, now available in this box set.
