The Amadeus Quartet, along with the Quartetto Italiano, was the most famous chamber music group in Europe during the second half of the twentieth century. Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert received some of the most prestigious performances of their works from this quartet. This 2-CD Urania set features the most significant quartets from Mozart's repertoire, recorded by the Amadeus Quartet between 1951 and 1955.
