This definition had been given to many Italian opera authors of the verismo era. We therefore liked to take it up again to pay homage to a group of very young Italian singers, rich in talent and selected by Maestro Mauro Trombetta and the artistic director Mara Monopoli for the first high specialization course "Experimental Lyrics" organized by the Province of Foggia. Accompanied by the great symphony orchestra "U. Giordano" directed by Maestro Gianna Fratta, these brilliant interpreters propose an interesting and varied selection of arias taken from the verismo repertoire: Leoncavallo, Mascagni, the unreleased on disc Pisano, Giordano and Puccini. In a period fresco of certain historical and musicological interest.
