Stop At The Devil’s Crossroad - AUDIOPHILE PRESSING

Stop At The Devil’s Crossroad - AUDIOPHILE PRESSING

€ 39,00

--- The Blues trace their roots to North American slavery, with its complete negation of basic human rights and the resulting loss of consideration for the individual among generations of AfroAmericans. A direct result of this terrible dehumanizing experience, the blues have evolved as an extremely expressive music form which goes right to the heart and the ear of the listener in a simple and direct manner. This album features cIassic titles from such historical blues giants as Blind Blake, Blind Boy Fuller, Robert Johnson and Charley Patton. The styles and sound of the individual members of the group are reflected in these fresh new arrangements, giving new character while also retaining the original simplicity of the blues. Stop At The Devil’s Crossroad is more than a simple playlist of standards, it is an atmospheric collection which brings to light various sonic shadings, from classics like Delta-Blues with acoustic resonator guitar, harmonica and voice, to the electric sound of traditional blues trio, to a fuller line up with expanded rhythm section, voice and winds. Stop At The Devil’s Crossroad is a journey of rediscovery, as Nik Lee and The Jingle Fellas pay tribute to this simple yet vastly expressive music. LIVING BLUES - THE ITALIAN RECORDINGS (LP 180 GR + CD* + FILE HD*) *CD (NO JEWEL BOX) and HD files are inside the vinyl. “Living Blues or “Playing the Blues? Without a doubt, Max belongs to the first category, and for this reason playing and sharing time becomes an out of the ordinary experience. Despite having a large territory in common - the Land of the Blues - our musical goals appear apparently distant, however, each encounter generates a unique alchemy, which surprises us first. This record tells of life, of its joys and sorrows, of love and resignation, but never of defeat. The first side of the LP expresses the essence of the Blues, its roots and its evolution. The second is a journey through time and space, between the difficulties of life, hope and acceptance, although the solo that dissolves the tonality and rhythm in the first of the bonus tracks is the metaphor that “We still haven’t found what we’re looking for; and so we continue to seek. PHOTOGRAPHS & MEMORIES TRIBUTE TO JIM CROCE

PHOTOGRAPHS & MEMORIES TRIBUTE TO JIM CROCE

€ 18,00

Pop. Original compositions by: J. Croce, C. Fox, N. Gibel, F. Mazzaron, A. Arcuri, M. Muehleisen, F. Ranghiero. All arrangements by F. Ranghiero. Barbara Belloni Voice; Four Fried Fish: Fabio Ranghiero Grandpiano & Hammond, Flamiano Mazzaron Guitars, Alessandro Arcuri Bass & Double Bass, Alberto Toninelli Drums. 24bit/88.2 kHz original live-in-studio recorded in Velut Luna Studio, Preganziol, Italy, on July 14, 15, 16 - 2012.  I discovered Jim Croce and his songs in a hot afternoon, at the beginning of the summer in 1980, while I was preparing my school leaving examination. I soon loved his world, made of little stories, never banal, constructed on “that” music I already loved, a masterly mix of country and blues: I immediately became aware that, sooner or later ,I should have had to do something more to keep alive the memory of this sincere and nice musician. Since then 32 years are passed... and 39 years since that awful night, the 20th of September 1973, during which a cruel destiny, concealed between the wings of the Beechcraft D-18 and the only Peacan Tree that separated the plane from the open sky, took away Jim, and here I am, at last, to pay tribute to an artist who has been and is important to me and to many other people, who loved and will always love his songs. So long, Jim ! Marco Lincetto About the “Memories” Choosing among Jim’s many songs for this CD hasn’t been painless. It was clear since the beginning that many of his most beautiful pieces couldn’t have found the deserved space. Besides, as arranger, I wanted to find a way to involve even more the other musicians in the project. The “memories” are so originated, with the request to create a short personal piece inspired by one or more songs of the American singer-songwriter. The task of the listeners is to close their eyes and recognize some notes or phrasing concealed in the memory. Fabio Ranghiero

Flyin’ Horns: Ermanno Zuccato tenor saxophone and flute; Maurizio Scomparin trumpet; Luca Moresco slide trombone. Guests: Marco Catinaccio percussions; Marco Pandolfi harmonica; Pepe de La Sartoria mad background vocal. 24bit/88.2 original live in studio recording at Areamagister Studio, Preganziol (TV) on October 30,31 and November 1,2,3-2010  With this second album the Four Fried Fish reach their artistic maturity. It’s dedicated to original compositions made by the two historical group leader, the guitarist and singer Flamiano Mazzaron and the organist and pianist Fabio Ranghiero. The project presents a remarkable stylistic coherence searching into the different faces of the modern blues. The group follows three ways in the releasing of this precious album. The first is that of the mainstream electric blues, that of Chicago, born directly from that of Delta. You can feel it listening tracks like “Call me, Little Sun” or “Doggy Style” or naturally the title track “Love can change everything”. The second way is more funk with metropolitan sound echo of seventies like “Tear my mask”. And the third way is the one we on Velut Luna label prefer that goes well with the new progressive American trend, that is a mix of classic blues and modern country style. “Going down” is the perfect synthesis of this style as the famous American singer Ryan Bingham released with “Mescalito” his wonderful debut album. It represented a perfect “brother in arms” in this wonderful crusade of the evolution of the great American folk music. The recording is fully realized live-in-studio by Marco Lincetto and Andrea Valfrè, using both analogical and digital HD sound camera. It presents an extraordinary dynamics (for a disk of this music genre) together with solidity and considerable impact. You cannot putting up the volume while hearing this disk… until your wife or your next-door neighbours will come to cudgel you!
