In this concert the author, above all, meant to offer to the listener the sound of the solo instrument, its tones, its nuances, its sound waves, high, medium and low, outlining, as in a painting, its rich tones, bright or soft.
Therefore he entrusted the composition structure to the interpreter, Angelo Teora, relying not only on his tecnical virtuosity, but also to his valuable tone sonority.
All this is finally lavished and arranged in the four movements and in the cadence, that is in the complete form of the composition.
04 - Largo for Orchestra (2010)

The Largo for Orchestra originates from the strong emotional impression that the author felt at the sight of the river Gange, in India. The river that comes from the past centuries and goes to the future centuries, allegory of the eternity and the infinity.
Seen, perceived but also listened to.
Its wide course is full of life, submerged and on the surface, articulated in straight lines or in sudden jolts and bendings. And from the surrounding shores reach voices, distant melodies, calls, the sound of huge branches falling in the water.
The composition here assumes the value of a memory, of a tale told personally, but in its flowing, it lets the big, sacred river be the absolute protagonist of its infinite story.

What permeates this composition is a rare feature of contemporary “serious” music : the lightness.
The author, already with the title, lightens the classical idea of “perpetual motion” in music, introducing that term “velocetto”, which makes less dramatic the creative intention of the piece.
Actually this "moto velocetto perpetuo" rises as a precious little choreographic picture: mimers and dancers punctuate and mingle lightly with the musical continuum that twice opens in passages of melodic-harmonic wide ranging, which moreover don’t restrain the unending flow of rhythm beaten by the line of the perpetuum velocetto.
The composition seems to be an infinite “over again”; it seems indeed renewing, in the listener, the desire of hearing it again without any interruption, like in a perfect sound circle.
Lightness indeed, but also fine traces of softness and humour.

The term "Poem" placed in the title, after “Big Bang” could appear, at first sight, the statement of "music and programme", as it always has been for the celebrated Symphonic Poems of music’s history.
“Big Bang Poem” was composed in 1999: it would seem so an act of nostalgia towards an outdated musical form.
To tell the truth the score of this opera is quite a personal tale of the author, which tells about the notes and about the still misterious origin of Universe and life on Earth.
From movement to movement it reveals a passionate and at the same time unconventional approach to scientific matter, nothing therefore serious or slavish.
It’s rather a big divertissement which even reveals an ancient African legend "The story of the drum" alluding to the "Chemical Mixture"!
A divertissement which furthermore reveals the general character of the opera it the final "Inno Planetario" , in which it’s not difficult to recognize the amused winking to Ravel’s Bolero.
Above all, to the listener, remain the amazement and the emotion for a musical writing so original and astonishing in the survey of contemporary symphonic music.
