In the great Russian vocal tradition the Muscovite soprano Victoria Lyamina proposes an interesting selection of Russian romances datable between the last years of the nineteenth century and the first years of the twentieth century. These are folk themes tinged with melancholy and decadent Romanticism that describe an age drawing to the end. Victoria Lyamina brings us in the atmosphere of Russian empire, in the salons and in the bistro. This is an artist whose peculiarity is a deep and dark tone and also the fact that she accompanies herself with the piano while she sings.
