This \"use\" has allowed this musical masterpiece to become firmly established in the collective imagination as an icon of broad-spectrum Romanticism. It has been recorded by virtually all the world's greatest performers and orchestras, although in my opinion the definitive interpretation is that of the great American pianist Van Cliburn, with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Fritz Reiner in 1958. Velut Luna presents this unique chamber version for piano and string quartet, composed by Jeremy Liu, previously unreleased on disc.
