Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Votkinsk, May 7, 1840 – Saint Petersburg, November 6, 1893) was a Russian composer of the late Romantic period, whose compositions are among the most well-known in the classical repertoire. He combined characteristics of traditional Russian music with classical musical practice in his style, in contrast to the aesthetic vision of The Five, which was based on greater musical nationalism.

Although he showed early musical talent, Tchaikovsky studied law. In Russia at the time, musical education was unregulated and opportunities to study music academically were limited. When such opportunities arose for him, he abandoned his legal career and entered the newly established Saint Petersburg Conservatory. After completing his studies, he forged his own Russian musical style, consolidating the use of classical compositional conventions alongside traditional Russian music, thus achieving international renown, although not always well-received by Russian critics.

Despite popular success, his life was marked by events that led him to depression and a fatalistic view of existence: in his youth, the death of his mother, the subsequent breakdown of interpersonal relationships, and the unacceptability of his homosexuality in the society of the time contributed to this condition. His death is officially attributed to cholera, but its circumstances are debated; suicide has also been hypothesized, either through voluntary contagion with the disease or by another form of poisoning.

TO RUSSIA WITH LOVE (CVLD332)

Kostandin Tashko, piano

Available in: HD File, CD

Nikolai Karlovich Medtner
01 - Sonata Reminiscences op.38 in A minor n.1 from Forgotten Melodies I, 15'56"

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky & Mikhail Vasilievich Pletnev
The Nutcracker Suite, 17'50"
02 - March, 1'59"
03 - Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, 2'09"
04 - Tarantella, 1'22"
05 - Intermezzo, 4'13"
06 - Trepak (Russian Dance), 1'12"
07 - The Tea (Chinese Dance), 1'22"
08 - Pas de deux (Andante maestoso), 5'33"

Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky
Trois mouvements de Pétrouchka, 17'40"
09 - Danse russe, 2'50"
10 - Chez Pétrouchka, 5'17"
11 - La semaine grasse, 9'33"

Tot. time: 51'32"

24bit/88.2kHz original recording made at Laboratorio ZANTA, Camponogara, Italy, on December 3, 4, 2020
Kostandin Tashko plays on Steinway & Sons D274 Concert Grandpiano, prepared and tuned by Silvano Zanta

Production: VELUT LUNA
Executive producer: Marco Lincetto
Recording, mix and mastering engineer: Marco Lincetto
Musical producer and editing engineer: Mattia Zanatta
Text: Myriam Guglielmo
Inside photo: Marco Lincetto
Design and layout: L'Image

Kostandin Tashko
"... deep vision of the text, combined with great musical maturity. Piano writing between composition, transcription and restitution. The path proposed by Kostandin Tashko in the name of the Russian musical tradition unfolds along a path that, although traced within the twentieth-century context, tends to look back nostalgically at a past with vaguely defined contours, between Medtner's dreamlike late romanticism, Tchaikovsky's fairy-tale and Stravinsky's ancestral. The undisputed protagonist is the piano, an instrument historically linked to compositional activity both as a starting point for the drafting of piano pieces entrusted to the performance of the composer himself, and as the recipient of transcriptions taken from orchestral pieces by the author or later performers.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0575/1016/6580/files/folder_84ac6d7d-f8b9-4465-8c9c-4d113929c8d1.jpg?v=1685028515
the-velut-luna-reference-vol-1
The Velut Luna's Reference Vol. 1: Masterclone 24K GOLD CD

The Velut Luna's Reference CD Vol.1 (VLLP009) (CVLD393)

Available in: Masterclone 24K GOLD CD and HD File

Notes

individually made one by one - Only 50 copies available on Gold 24K CD!

I-86 Going North 5:42 (Fabio Ranghiero / Lucia Minetti - Lucia Minetti)

Lucia Minetti & Fabio Ranghiero, Recorded at Magister Recording Area, Preganziol April 2022

Amarsi un po' 4:13 (Battisti - Mogol)

Chiara Pastò & Enrico Santacatterina, Recorded at Parco Euganeo, Montegrotto Terme, August 2021

Find Me 4:06 (D.
